Cragieburn forest, where gorgeous alpine peaks meet forest so uniquely New Zealand you're left enchanted & longing for your next trip. Driving up to the base of the mountain was exponentially exciting, much like a can of Gold Medal being shaken up. White snowy canopies of native mountain beech forest covered the snow & rock road. Judi, my car, had made it up without chains (this combined with her crossing the 100,000 km mark made for a very special day), but the real surprise was waiting for me at the bottom of the first tow - JP, fresh from morning patrol. He would go on to give me a personal tour of the Mountain. Enjoy this mountains incredible beauty, character & charm.
